Despite the fact that we've been (happily) very busy since the New Year, we've also managed to find the time to squeeze in a new website for ourselves! We're very pleased with the end result, but do let us know what you think of it.

Somerleyton Estate
We've just completed a major rebranding of Somerleyton Estate in East Anglia. Having conducted branding workshops over three days with around 100 employees of Somerleyton last year, we explored and defined the estate's core brand values which will set the benchmark for all future communications. Now we've unveiled the new branding, current work includes a wayfinding project at Fritton Lake, a key part of the Estate's leisure offer.
Marathon
Those of you who are in regular contact with Jonathan Davies, our senior web developer at Nixon, may already be aware that he is running the London Marathon this Sunday! Most lunchtimes have seen Jonathan diligently set off for a practice run, unbelievably often to Godrevy and back, a distance of 8 miles! He's just completed a half marathon in Devon and we are so impressed we've agreed to sponsor him, but he needs all the help he can get and he's doing this for a very good cause: The Mental Health Foundation.
Not simply content with having a successful E-commerce website, and seemingly bucking the trend for the current doom and gloom in the retail sector, Jo Riley, founder of The Atlantic Blanket Company, has opened her very first shop. Located in downtown Padstow, it opened in late February to much acclaim.

...and talking of Padstow, Cornwall is bracing itself for a bumper season with pundits saying that many people will holiday here in the UK rather than venture abroad this year. We're delighted to report that Nixon, having won the contract to redesign the new VisitCornwall website, will play an important role in persuading visitors to experience not only wonderful places like Padstow, but also many others such as Perranporth, Porthleven, Port Isaac, Portloe and, not least, Penzance!
Rosevidney Manor and Gear Farm
...and talking of tourism, whilst we are currently working on two major website projects, (for an award-winning holiday complex and the region's leading cottage rental company) we're finding that smaller tourism businesses are investing in good design too, we've just completed work on two such websites - for a fabulous property, Rosevidney Manor which went live last week, and the wonderful Gear Farm down near Zennor.
Nixon exhibited at the recent Taste of The West show and Martin and Emily returned after the two day event with really positive news from the speciality food sector. There is an amazing breadth and quality of products available and the majority of those exhibiting, particularly the smaller artisan producers are reporting an increase in sales. “I particularly enjoyed tasting the numerous samples on offer, not least the delicious cheese from Cranborne Cheese Co. and the fantastic coffee from Bristol-based specialist Brian Wogan” reports Martin in between mouthfuls!
