Sofa Workshop
We're delighted to announce the launch of a major new website for Sofa Workshop. The project started with the creation of a fresh new look which upholds the core brand values and identity of this well known national retailer. The entire site was then built from scratch in a suitably bespoke manner by Jonathan and his talented team. The site features an E-Commerce function and also includes a content management system to allow updates by the Sofa Workshop marketing team.
The new Eden Friend’s Magazine has been launched to some acclaim and we are now working on the next issue. Eden were seeking a fresh design approach and some new ideas for this popular subscription-based magazine which is distributed to all their Friends. We were thrilled when they approached us several months ago. We have also created a new identity for the Friends scheme and an accompanying leaflet which will encourage others to join up.
Several of the Nixon team dreamt of becoming architects, but simply couldn’t get our heads around physics (or maths for that matter, in Martin’s case!), however, at least we get to work on their websites. Arco Studios, one of Cornwall’s leading practices, has recently launched their new site. We have some history with Arco following the creation of their identity over four years ago, whilst they also drew up the plans for our restoration of White’s Warehouse.
It’s not unusual for designers to feel a sense of pride when they come across their work in print or online, but very rare that we spot it on a roundabout as part of a floral display! We were taken aback to see the logotype we created as part of the recent Hayle town branding in a prime position at the end of the Hayle by-pass on the A30. The project involved our creating an appropriate mark to promote the town of Hayle and this is now being implemented across a range of material including website, banners and, of course, roundabouts!
World Champion
We are thrilled to report that we have a World Champion (nearly) in our midst. Jonathan Davies excelled himself in the 2008 World Bellyboarding Championships by finishing as runner up in the junior class (in this case, under 50s!) a couple of weeks ago. An awestruck crowd were stunned by his skilled performance, leading some to comment that his adroit manoeuvering and overall consummate ability in the water should have netted him top honours. He assures us he’ll be back next year to try and claim that elusive prize!
Check out www.originalsurfboards.co.uk - not one of ours, but worth a look if you would like to know more about bellyboarding.
